Questions
What is the instant asset write-off?
It lets an eligible business immediately deduct the full cost of a qualifying depreciating asset, rather than claiming the deduction over several years. The asset must be first used or installed ready for use within the income year.
What does “installed ready for use” mean?
The asset has to be more than just paid for or delivered by 30 June — it must be installed and ready to use in the business. Ordering on 29 June won't help if it's still in a box in July.
Is the threshold confirmed for this year?
The write-off threshold changes year to year and is subject to legislation. We verify the current figure against the ATO before we advise — we never quote a deadline or threshold from memory.
